What is a Master Builder?

	The Professional Home Builders Institute of Alberta (PHBIA) administers the Master Builder program to further the professionalism and business expertise in the Alberta home building industry. To become a Master Builder, the builder must do the following:
Agree to abide by the Institute Code of Ethics and Rules and Regulations. Individual or Company membership must be held in a local association of the Alberta Home Builders Association. Individual or Company must acquire 14 courses to be accredited with the PHBIA's Graduate Master Builder certification. Individual or Company must continue ongoing education relative to the industry. Individual or Company must have a minimum of five years related experience as an owner or as a senior manager and be in active new home construction as a full time business for a minimum of three years.
